The PDP, in a statement issued in Benin City by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Ogie Vasco, also expelled the National Vice Chairman (South-South) of the party, Chief Dan Orbih.
The statement said Shaibu and Orbih, as well as a former member of the House of Representatives, from Oredo Federal Constituency, Omorgie Ihama, were all expelled for anti-party activities.
Vasco said the decision was taken on Wednesday at a meeting attended by nine members of the State Working committee at the party secretariat.
Reacting to the development, Orbih said the body lacked the powers to suspend a member of the National Working Committee or expel anybody without following the provision of the party’s constitution.
