The Senate is set to start interviewing the seven new ministers that President Muhammadu Buhari appointed last week.

Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh of Abia State, Umana Okon Umana of Akwa Ibom State, and Ekumankama are the nominated ministers.
Goodluck Nanah Opiah of Imo State and Joseph Nkama of Ebonyi State.

Others are Odum Udi of Rivers State, Ademola Adewole Adegoroye of Ondo State, and Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub of Kano State.

Individual ministers will be examined, and this will take place in plenary.

Last Tuesday, Mr. Buhari sent a letter to the Senate announcing his nomination of the seven ministers and requesting their approval.

In accordance with Section 147(2) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, as amended, he claimed, the confirmation request was made.

He omitted to mention their portfolios, though. If confirmed by the Senate, the ministerial nominees will take the place of individuals who recently left their positions to run for other political positions.
