During a visit to NDLEA headquarters in Abuja, Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Amina J Mohammed, reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to assisting the agency in combating substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking in Nigeria.

Accompanied by UN Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Mohamed Malick Fall, Mohammed highlighted the complex challenges faced by NDLEA and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address the root causes of drug-related issues.

Commending NDLEA Chairman, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), for his exemplary leadership, Mohammed underscored the agency’s pivotal role in safeguarding public health and national security.

In response, Marwa expressed gratitude for the UN’s support and outlined the agency’s efforts in combating drug abuse and trafficking, including significant arrests and seizures.
