In Abuja, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) agents apprehended 18 suspected internet fraudsters known as Yahoo Boys.
According to a statement issued by EFCC spokesman Wilson Uwujaren on Thursday, the suspects are: Innocent Samson, Obiora Eze, Ifeanyi Joseph, Isdore Chinedu, Badaki Linus, Ameh Nick, Kelvin Chima, Akwa Iwu Promise Ifeanyi, and Adekunle Samuel.
Others include Abutu John, Testimony Mathiew, Omale Mary Ochanya (female), Afarm Darlington Edwin, Henry John, Urochukwu Abel, Ogieto Gift, Innocent Gideon, Ojimini Maduemyi Raymond, Mathiew Timothy, and Kingsley Chukwuemeka.
He stated that they were apprehended on July 19, 2022, at Army Estate Phase Five, Kurudu, Abuja, in response to intelligence reports about their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud received by the Commission.
“Among the items recovered from the suspects are three cars: a Lexus RX 350, a Lexus ES 350, and a Peugeot 306, as well as a motorcycle, six laptop computers, and mobile phones,” he said.
