The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is demanding justice following the tragic death of broadcaster Hillary Odia in Edo State, who fell victim to cultists on the Eve of Christmas.

Odia, a dedicated staff member of Independent Television and Radio, met his untimely end on Sunday night near 2nd East Circular in Benin City, the state capital, sparking outrage among media professionals.

Edo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident and assured that arrests of secret cult members responsible for the heinous act have been made across different locations in the state. The suspects are poised to face prosecution.

Expressing concern over the incident, the NUJ in Edo State has called on security agencies, particularly the Nigeria Police Force, to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the broadcaster’s murder.

In a solemn message, the union extended heartfelt condolences, praying for the repose of Hillary Odia’s soul. NUJ urged his grieving family to find solace in the positive legacy he leaves behind in the annals of history.
