A former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has also faulted the federal government for imposing the cybersecurity levy on Nigerians.
The former Anambra State Governor, in a statement posted on his X handle on Wednesday, accused the government of allegedly milking a dying economy rather than nurturing it to recovery and growth.
He also accused the government of initiating policies which do not only impoverish the citizens but also make the country’s economic environment less competitive.
Obi maintained that the imposition of a Cybersecurity Levy on Nigerians will further destroy whatever is left of their remaining capital after the impact of the naira devaluation and high inflation rate.
He further queried when the office of the National Security Adviser became a revenue collecting centre, stressing that it was unthinkable to expect the suffering citizens to separately fund all activities of the government.
