A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Guatemala on Saturday night, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The tremor was also felt in El Salvador and Nicaragua, with no reported casualties or damage in any of the three countries.

The quake hit at 8:53 pm (0253 GMT) with its epicenter located eight kilometers southeast of Jalapa city, at a depth of 265.5 kilometers. Seismological institutes in El Salvador and Nicaragua recorded the quake at magnitudes of 5.9 and 5.2, respectively.

Authorities from all three countries reported no casualties or infrastructural damage. This region lies on the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area known for its intense tectonic activity.
