Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between the Dangote Group and federal regulators. In a series of tweets, Obi urged caution from government agencies, emphasizing the economic significance of the Dangote Refinery.
Obi argued that the refinery, which could generate $21 billion annually and create over 100,000 jobs, is crucial for Nigeria’s economy and should be supported, not hindered. He highlighted Dangote’s substantial contributions to Nigeria’s industrial sector and urged the government to facilitate a smooth operation of the refinery.
