President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the Nigerian military. Speaking at the graduation of Course 32 participants at the National Defence College in Abuja, Tinubu stressed the importance of equipping and empowering the armed forces to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges.

Tinubu expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of infrastructure at the College’s permanent site in Piwoyi, Abuja. Despite progress, he emphasized that more work is needed and pledged that his administration would complete ongoing projects and upgrade the facilities.

The President also highlighted the significant sacrifices made by the Armed Forces in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and vowed to continue providing the necessary resources to ensure they remain capable and ready.

In his address, Tinubu acknowledged the contributions of the Course 32 graduates to his administration’s efforts to develop strategic solutions for harnessing Nigeria’s mining industry. He noted that their input is already being integrated into policies aimed at enhancing national security and development.

He commended the National Defence College for its role in addressing national security and development issues through comprehensive training and thematic research. The graduates, drawn from various sectors including the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, and international participants from 19 countries, were urged to apply their newly acquired skills to tackle the multifaceted challenges facing the nation.

The event was attended by key figures including the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru; Minister of Finance, Wale Edun; Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; and other top military and government officials.
