Political leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State have pledged to work together in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as part of renewed efforts to strengthen the party’s base ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The resolution was reached at a strategic meeting attended by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, APC State Chairman Sunday Fagbemi, federal lawmakers, and political appointees from the state. The discussions focused on consolidating unity within the party and attracting more dividends of democracy to Kwara.

Convener of the meeting, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) and a close ally of President Tinubu, described the gathering as a major step toward reinforcing internal cohesion within the APC.

“We decided to come together to think and talk about our politics and our situation in Kwara, and for the first time, we are bonding like brothers,” Ajiboye said. “We have successfully discussed as a family, and we are taking it further from here.”

Ajiboye emphasized that the meeting was designed to rally all elected and appointed officials behind President Tinubu and ensure a united political front capable of securing victory in 2027.
“This meeting is geared toward making the political landscape in Kwara ready and permissible for the eventual victory of Mr. President,” he added.

Also speaking, Senator Saliu Mustapha (Kwara Central) described the gathering as a “family meeting” aimed at fostering appreciation and shared commitment to the state’s growth.
“This meeting serves to recognize the President’s developmental efforts and to reinforce our commitment to his renewed hope agenda,” Mustapha said. “Such collaborative efforts are essential for fostering a secure, prosperous, and united Kwara.”

Stakeholders also discussed the security challenges facing the state and reviewed the measures currently being implemented by the government to strengthen public safety.
