In a daring rescue operation, Abia State Police successfully saved three kidnap victims from the clutches of their captors. The victims, identified as Azubuike Okorie, Oluebube Nwafor, and Ekene Ike, were found in a hideout within Umunneochi council area.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed this heroic incident and shared that the breakthrough came after a meticulous raid in the dense bushes of Lekwesi community. Two male suspects, Abubakar Tukur and Ibrahim Sandari, were apprehended in connection with the kidnapping.
Acting on reliable intelligence, the police swiftly moved into action, capturing Tukur and Sandari near Lokpanta. The rescue operation brought freedom to the three victims, who all hail from Egwueme community in Enugu State.
Chinaka expressed the force’s commitment to ending the terror inflicted on innocent citizens in Umunneochi and its surroundings. This significant development marks a major win in the fight against kidnapping, providing hope for the safety and security of the region’s residents.
