In a recent development, the Osun State Amotekun Corps successfully apprehended two suspects in separate incidents. The State Commander of the corps, Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, disclosed this information in a statement released on Friday.

The first suspect, Sodiq Adelabu, aged 20 and hailing from Osogbo, was arrested in the city for his alleged involvement in a secret cult and various criminal activities, including theft. During interrogation, Adelabu confessed to being a member of the notorious Eiye Confraternity.

Meanwhile, the second suspect, Sunday Oluwasegun, aged 22 and from Ila-Orangun, was apprehended for breaking into a house in the Ila Local Government Area and stealing money and household appliances.

The swift action taken by the Amotekun Corps was a response to complaints made by vigilant residents of the state, highlighting the importance of community involvement in maintaining security.

Brig-Gen. Adewinmbi urged the people of Osun State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals to the authorities. He assured them that their identities would be protected, encouraging active participation in the ongoing fight against crime and criminality.

Following their arrest, both suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution. This serves as a testament to the commitment of law enforcement agencies in tackling crime within the state.
