Adamawa State Government hails the arrest of the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa-Ari as a significant step towards justice in Nigeria.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, in a statement signed by the Director General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr Solomon Kumangar, commends the apprehension of Yunusa-Ari as a big relief and proof that the long arm of the law will always catch up with a felon.

Fintiri accuses Yunusa-Ari of stoking the embers of discord, misinformation, and half-truths while on the run.

The Governor also alleges that Yunusa-Ari tried to force an unpopular choice on the citizens of Adamawa State by way of a “civilian coup” during the event of March 16th, April 2023.

The government demands that justice run its full course and all involved in the false declaration of the state governorship election winner face the full wrath of the law.

The government views Yunusa-Ari’s arrest as an important first step in maintaining the sanctity of the electoral law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The government hopes for a new Nigeria and welcomes the arrest of Hudu. The statement calls on the police and all relevant investigating agencies to ensure due diligence in the prosecution of this case to its logical conclusion.
