The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to establish a transparent system for tracking and auditing federal security funds to ensure accountability in the fight against insecurity.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party made the appeal while reacting to Tinubu’s recent visit to Plateau State and his remarks at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), Jos.
The ADC urged the president to boost security coordination through joint military and police operations that actively involve local and state security networks.
“The president must elevate national security alertness by coordinating joint deployments with the full participation of local and state systems,” the party said.
It also tasked the presidency with committing to regular public reporting on security incidents and government responses to enhance transparency and public trust.
Highlighting the worsening insecurity in Plateau, Zamfara, Benue, Niger, Kaduna, and Kwara states, the ADC called on Tinubu to engage more directly with affected communities.
“The president should meet with governors, local leaders, and citizens, listen to their stories, and ask for ideas,” the party added.
