Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim says his team are “at the beginning of becoming a very strong side” after their dramatic 2–2 draw against Tottenham extended their unbeaten Premier League run to five matches.

United appeared set to move into second place after Bryan Mbeumo’s first-half header put them in front for nearly an hour. But Spurs flipped the game with two quick goals from Mathys Tel and Richarlison.

Despite being reduced to 10 men when Benjamin Sesko limped off after all substitutions had been made, United battled back to salvage a point through Matthijs de Ligt’s towering 96th-minute header.

Amorim praised his players’ resilience but admitted frustration that they did not take all three points.

“During the game you feel that the three points were there,” the Portuguese coach said. “If you look at the game and the atmosphere, you can see how much we still have to grow as a team — today was our day to win.”

He added, “With a little more bravery, we could have killed the game.”

The result leaves United in seventh place, with the risk of dropping further if weekend results go against them. Still, Amorim remains optimistic, describing the draw as another step in their rebuilding process.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg,” he said. “We’re only at the beginning of becoming a very strong team. We believe in our ability to score until the last minute — and we proved that today.”
