The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has acknowledged that there were imperfections in the conduct of the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Speaking at a closed-door parley between the APC National Working Committee and the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, the vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, and members-elect of the National Assembly, Adamu stated that the polls were not “perfect.”

The meeting, which took place at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, was attended by several dignitaries, including Senate President Ahmed Lawan, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.

Adamu’s admission comes amid calls by some members of the NWC for the party’s reformation and his resignation to address the controversial Muslim-Muslim ticket of the incoming administration, which has caused tension ahead of the 2023 elections.

During the event, Adamu congratulated all the elected political officeholders and said that they deserved the joy of victory.

Additionally, he noted that rigging may not be dead, implying that it could still be a factor in future elections.
