The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is confident of winning the forthcoming Ekiti governorship election and the 2027 presidential poll, citing its political strength and nationwide structure.

The party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, made the remarks on Thursday in Abuja while inaugurating the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti governorship election scheduled for June 20.

Yilwatda also presented the party’s flag to the incumbent governor and candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, who is seeking a second term.

He praised Oyebanji’s record in infrastructure, social protection, education and healthcare, describing him as a strong candidate for re-election.

“You are connecting roads and connecting hearts across the state,” Yilwatda said, adding that the APC was “prepared to win any election.”

He said the party had both the manpower and funding capacity to run a broad-based campaign across all levels, from national structures to polling units.

Also speaking, Senate President Godswill Akpabio urged aspirants in the party’s primaries to accept outcomes in good faith ahead of the 2027 elections.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who chairs the campaign council, said the party’s strategy would focus on grassroots mobilisation across Ekiti’s 16 local government areas and 177 wards.

He said the campaign would prioritise youth and women engagement, describing the exercise not just as an electoral contest but as a bid to consolidate governance progress in the state.
