The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council has dismissed speculations that the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was in London for a meeting with Olukayode Ariwoola, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

In a statement issued on Thursday, the council’s media director, Bayo Onanuga, refuted reports of a meeting between Tinubu and the CJN, calling it a “pure concoction” by those seeking to undermine the legitimacy of the recent election.

Onanuga clarified that Tinubu is currently in Paris, France, and not in the UK.

He emphasized that there was no clandestine meeting between the President-elect and the respected Chief Justice of Nigeria, adding that the reports were groundless and lacked authenticity.

The President-elect left Nigeria on 21 March, 10 clear days thereafter. What kind of appointment or secret meeting will the two men have arranged in London, with such widely disparate arrival dates, except in the imagination of the false news merchants?” Onanuga asked.

He further disclosed that Tinubu would visit London after his stay in France before proceeding to Mecca for the lesser Hajj.
