The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, Hon. Isa Ashiru, has brokered peace among the party’s factional leaders, bringing an end to the leadership crisis that had divided the state chapter.

The reconciliation meeting, which lasted about three hours at Ashiru’s office in Kaduna, brought together leaders of the various factions and other key stakeholders to chart a united path for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among those in attendance were Elder Patrick Ambut, Ben Bako, Tijjani Mustapha, Bege Katuka, the party’s Zonal Vice Chairman, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, and other stakeholders.

Speaking after the meeting, Ambut commended Ashiru’s leadership, expressing confidence in his ability to reposition the party for future electoral contests.

He described the reconciliation as a major turning point for the Kaduna chapter, saying all factions had agreed to put aside their differences and work together in the interest of the party.

“The success of the ADC in the forthcoming general elections is our priority, and the issue of factionalisation in Kaduna has now been laid to rest,” Ambut said.

Also speaking, Tijjani Mustapha described the meeting, attended by 11 party leaders, as cordial and productive, adding that a communiqué outlining the resolutions reached would be released soon.

Ben Bako said the reconciliation had effectively resolved the leadership crisis within the Kaduna chapter of the ADC, noting that efforts were also underway to address pending legal matters involving the party.

“Leadership is the ability to unite people and guide them towards a common goal, and that is exactly what has happened here today,” Bako said.

The reconciliation is expected to strengthen internal cohesion within the Kaduna ADC and improve the party’s readiness for future political engagements in the state.
