Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, an influential figure in Uganda and a staunch supporter of President Yoweri Museveni, was targeted in a shooting attack. The assailants opened fire on Bugingo’s vehicle, tragically killing his bodyguard, Muhumuza Richard.
The unidentified attackers swiftly fled the scene on a motorcycle. Bugingo, who leads the House of Prayer Ministries, a prominent Pentecostal church, and owns television and radio channels, has been a vocal supporter of Museveni’s regime.
Despite sustaining injuries, Bugingo managed to transport the vehicle to Mulago Hospital. His bodyguard, however, succumbed to the assault.
The incident is under investigation as an attempted murder, emphasizing the contentious atmosphere surrounding Bugingo’s support for the ruling president.
