The Nigerian Correctional Service has alerted the public that about 31 inmates who escaped from the Suleja prison are still at large.
The NCoS, therefore, called on Nigerians to assist in recapturing the fleeing inmates who posed danger to public safety and national security.
The Service Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Umar, made the call in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Recall that a downpour on April 24, wreaked havoc on the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, Niger State, causing extensive damage to the facility, which facilitated the escape of about 119 inmates.
In the statement, Umar, who revealed that the service had since deployed various strategies towards recapturing all escapees, assured that security in custodial facilities nationwide was beefed up to forestall any security breaches.
He noted that the services had also published the details of some escapees from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Suleja.
