Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo is among the 23-player shortlist for the FIFPro Team of the Year. The 38-year-old, who scored 54 goals for club and country in 2023, is nominated alongside Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.

The FIFPro award, chosen by over 28,000 professional footballers, is the only global football award exclusively decided by players.

The finalists include goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois, Ederson, and Emiliano Martinez, and defenders Ruben Dias, Virgil van Dijk, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, John Stones, and Kyle Walker.
