Former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, has called on the promoters of the “end bad governance” protests to accept President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s olive branch. Speaking to reporters in Owerri, Madumere emphasized the importance of peace and dialogue in resolving grievances.

Madumere acknowledged the right of citizens to protest in a democracy but stressed the need for unity and constructive discussions once the authorities acknowledge the issues. He urged the protesters to embrace dialogue with the federal government, expressing confidence that President Tinubu, whom he described as a “listening father,” would consider their demands.

He also commended Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and other South East governors for their efforts in maintaining calm in the region. Madumere praised the South East youths for their restraint and peaceful conduct during the protests.

Addressing concerns about the safety and rights of the Igbo community, Madumere affirmed that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to live and work anywhere in the country. He lauded President Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor Uzodimma, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo for their swift intervention in ensuring the protection and rights of all citizens. Madumere emphasized that Nigeria is a united entity and that no one has the right to expel others from any part of the country.
