In a stern public statement, Immediate Past President of the World Medical Association and Chief Consultant Family Physician, Dr. Osahon Enabulele, has vehemently refuted claims circulating online that credit him with inventing natural remedies for hypertension and erectile dysfunction.
Dr. Enabulele, whose distinguished career includes leadership roles with the Nigerian Medical Association and the Commonwealth Medical Association, expressed deep concern over the rampant misinformation in a detailed disclaimer provided to Vanguard. “I did not create or invent the said natural solutions to cure hypertension and erectile dysfunction credited to my person,” he stated, dismissing the widely circulated video clip that falsely attributes these remedies to him.
The video, which has gained traction through sponsorship by entities including “Arum Institute” and “Eric TV,” purportedly features Enabulele endorsing these remedies and offering substantial cash rewards for their use. “I did not make the said video clips asserting the creation of the said natural remedies or any other solution whatsoever,” he insisted. He further clarified his complete lack of association with any parties named in the video, including claims of interactions with figures such as Pete Edoce.
Labeling the fraudulent content as the “handiwork of scammers, fraudsters, imposters, lazy and unscrupulous individuals,” Dr. Enabulele warned the public against falling prey to these misleading advertisements. He emphasized that the content is “AI-generated, misleading, untrue, unfounded and against reality,” and urged viewers to disregard any such claims entirely.
The former WMA president confirmed that relevant agencies have been alerted and are actively pursuing leads to bring those responsible to book. “I reaffirm my commitment to ensuring that Nigerians and citizens across the world receive quality health care through evidence-based medicine, best practices, culture and attitude,” he added.
Dr. Enabulele’s illustrious career, including his life membership in the World Organisation of Family Doctors, underscores his long-standing commitment to medical excellence. As the digital misinformation landscape continues to evolve, his resolute call for caution serves as a reminder of the importance of relying on verified medical information amid an era of pervasive online disinformation.
