The Federal Government has raised concerns over excessive speeding on Lagos’ newly refurbished Third Mainland Bridge.

Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, speaking at a stakeholder engagement for the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, cautioned motorists to reduce speed, warning that persistent violations could lead to the installation of speed bumps, which may cause significant traffic congestion.

CCTV cameras have been installed on and beneath the bridge, with remote monitoring set to take place from Abuja. Similar upgrades, including streetlights and cameras, have been extended to Falomo.

Umahi emphasized, “Whatever you are doing on that stretch of Falomo to Third Mainland Bridge… we are seeing you.”
