Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has urged Nigerians to exercise patience, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu’s government is in its initial stages and will soon gain momentum.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Adedeji compared the current phase to the takeoff of an airplane, asserting that the government is navigating through this initial period and will achieve balance soon.

“This is just taking off,” Adedeji emphasized. “You should be truthful and would have seen that we really know what we are doing. We have plans.”

Acknowledging the challenges faced by Nigerians, Adedeji assured that the government, under the leadership of President Tinubu, is working diligently day and night to ensure citizens feel the impact of good governance.

While addressing concerns about taxation, the FIRS boss assured that the new government is committed to avoiding overtaxing the citizens.

He stressed the government’s understanding of the difficulties faced by the people and reiterated its dedication to making a positive impact on their lives.

President Tinubu’s government was inaugurated in May of the previous year and has been grappling with issues such as insecurity, economic challenges, inflation, and the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Despite these challenges, Adedeji appealed for patience and confidence in the government’s efforts to improve the well-being of the citizens.
