A building collapse in Cairo’s Kerdasa district on Monday left 10 dead and eight injured, with several others feared trapped under the rubble, according to Egyptian state media.

Emergency responders, including civil defense teams and ambulances, rushed to the scene as rescue efforts continued. Eyewitnesses reported that a gas cylinder explosion caused the collapse, though authorities have launched an official police investigation.

Cairo, home to over 26 million people, has witnessed frequent building collapses in recent years, often due to aging structures and poor enforcement of construction regulations.
