Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo on Thursday praised Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari for his achievements in office, and unveiled two books chronicling his legacy.
Akufo-Addo, who spoke at a ceremony at the presidential villa in Abuja, said Buhari had made a positive impact on Nigeria and the world, and that his legacy would be remembered for years to come.
“President Buhari has been a transformative leader,” Akufo-Addo said. “He has made Nigeria a better place, and his legacy will be felt for many years to come.”
Akufo-Addo commended Buhari for his leadership qualities, and for his commitment to democracy and good governance.
He also praised Buhari for his work on regional security and development.
“President Buhari has been a strong advocate for peace and security in West Africa,” Akufo-Addo said. “He has also been a champion for development in Africa.”
The two books unveiled by Akufo-Addo are “State of Repair: How Muhammadu Buhari tried to transform Nigeria for the better,” by Anthony Goldman, and “The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari,” by Abu Ibrahim.
The books were reviewed by Kayode Fayemi, former governor of Ekiti, and Abubakar Abba, deputy vice-chancellor of the University of Abuja.
During the presentation, the books garnered significant support, raising over N500 million.
Prominent figures such as President-elect Bola Tinubu, Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima, Abdulsamad Rabiu (chairman of BUA Group), Aliko Dangote (chairperson of the Dangote Group), and Muhammed Idimi made generous contributions to acquire copies of the books.
The books serve as a testament to President Muhammadu Buhari’s accomplishments, and his legacy is poised to endure beyond his tenure as Nigeria’s leader.
