Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has urged Nigerian youths to prioritize education and technology as tools for securing their future and contributing to national development.

Hamzat gave the advice on Monday in Ikeja during a visit from Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Wife of the Lagos State Governor, and participants of the Lagos Boy Child Initiative, a mentorship program focused on grooming boys for leadership and purposeful living.

Rejecting the notion that education is a scam, Hamzat emphasized its role in expanding minds, building careers, and fostering national growth. He encouraged youths to develop valuable skills, embrace hard work, and avoid shortcuts to success.

Sanwo-Olu highlighted the initiative’s third annual workshop, themed “Empowering the Boy Child to Be a Well-Rounded Individual for the Future.” The three-day event, hosting 200 boys in Ikorodu, will offer citizenship education, culinary training, and environmental sustainability lessons.

Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has impacted 400 boys. Sanwo-Olu encouraged participants to seize the opportunity to develop their potential and become responsible future leaders.
