Kaduna State Police Command, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, has dismantled two suspected bandit hideouts in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The operation, conducted at the weekend, followed intelligence from local residents about suspected bandits operating around Durum and Danguzuri, extending towards the boundary with Kano State.
Police spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, said in a statement that the joint team engaged the bandits during a clearance operation, leading to the destruction of the suspected hideouts.
According to him, the structures, located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri, were allegedly used by the bandits to hold abducted victims.
The Command said the operation was part of efforts to restrict the movement of criminal elements and protect lives and property across the state.
It added that joint security patrols were ongoing in the area, with normalcy restored and the community remaining calm.
Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended residents for providing the intelligence that aided the operation and praised the security personnel for their efforts.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining operations against banditry and other criminal activities in Kaduna State.
The police urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations.
