The Nigerian Army has made a major breakthrough in the fight against banditry in Kaduna State.

According to Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs in Kaduna, troops of Sector Four of Operation Whirl Punch and Special Forces of the 167 Battalion successfully neutralized a bandit and cleared a criminal hideout in Chikun Local Government area after a fierce battle.

During the operation, the troops also rescued 14 kidnapped victims, comprising nine men and five women, who were taken to a secure location for debriefing and examination before being reunited with their families.

The successful operation also saw the destruction of several camps and the recovery of two motorcycles.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has praised the bravery and dedication of the troops, who risked their lives to secure the safety of the people of Kaduna State.

This latest victory is a clear indication of the commitment of the Nigerian Army to stamp out the menace of banditry and other criminal activities in the country.
