The Katsina State Police Command has expressed concern over the increasing rate of mobile phone snatching carried out with the use of weapons.
In a statement issued by the police spokesperson, CSP Gambo Isah, the Command has warned that it will take decisive action against the criminals to deter others from committing the crime.
Isah reiterated that the snatchers should either stop the act or face arrest and be treated as armed robbers.
He stressed that snatching of phones using weapons constitutes armed robbery, and the police would not fold its arms while criminals take advantage of citizens by robbing them of their phones.
The police spokesperson also assured the public that the Command would not relent in its efforts to secure the people of the state.
He disclosed that the police have already briefed their officers to deal decisively with any armed robbery gang found terrorizing the state.
Isah warned that any violent act would attract the same, and the police would use all available powers, including the use of lethal weapons, to protect the good people of the state.
