In response to the significant increase in transportation fares, the Kwara Government has announced a reduction in work days for state employees.

The decision was conveyed in a statement issued by Murtala Atoyebi, Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, and released in Ilorin.

Mrs. Susan Oluwole, the State Head of Service, has instructed all Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to promptly devise a schedule indicating the alternating work days for each employee.

This temporary measure aims to alleviate the burden faced by public workers in the state.

Furthermore, Oluwole emphasized that the decision to reduce work days was part of the government’s efforts to alleviate the hardship caused by the removal of fuel subsidies by the Federal Government.

However, she cautioned employees against taking advantage of the governor’s generosity and stressed that her office would intensify its monitoring of MDAs to ensure strict compliance.
