Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed his confidence in Nigeria’s judiciary to make a decision in favor of a better nation in the current presidential election matter before it.

Obi made this statement during an appearance as a guest on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday.

He stated that the justices are Nigerians and are aware of the dire situation in the country, and only truth and justice can save it.

Obi is challenging the process leading to the declaration of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as President-elect, and he believes that the justices want a better Nigeria for themselves and their children.

He also expressed his disappointment in Nigeria’s inability to conduct a simple election, citing smaller countries like Ghana and India, who have been successful in their electoral process.

Regarding the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the last presidential and National Assembly elections, Obi restated his earlier position that what INEC declared is false.

He noted that he’s challenging the process and the declaration and that his trust in INEC has evaporated with what they did on February 25.

He likened what INEC did to a restaurant promising a sumptuous meal but failing to bring the main course.

For Saturday’s gubernatorial and state Assembly elections, Obi urged his supporters to vote for Labour Party candidates in their states.

He said that where there is no candidate, they should vote with a new Nigeria in mind, looking out for competence, character, capacity, and capabilities.
