Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, made waves on Saturday during an event in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

The former governor was attending a town hall meeting at the International Convention Center, as part of Governor Charles Soludo’s one-year anniversary in office.

As Soludo, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was delivering a speech, the crowd erupted with excitement upon seeing Obi stroll in.

Despite being an opposition leader, Obi was warmly greeted by attendees and even got up to greet former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was also in attendance.

During Soludo’s speech, he praised Obi as an “illustrious son of Anambra” and this led to another round of applause from the crowd.

The event was certainly a special day in Anambra and one that will not soon be forgotten.
