The Lagos State Government has finalized plans to initiate repairs on the Third Mainland Bridge, starting with the partial closure of the Iyana Oworonshoki-Adeniji Adele bound section. This move is part of an ongoing maintenance initiative that began in November 2023, focusing initially on fixing the ramps and extending to other phases.

Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, highlighted the arrangement to mitigate commuting challenges during this repair period. The bridge will be open for Mainland Inbound Island travels from 12 am to 12 noon, and from 12 noon to midnight, it will be accessible from the Island to the Mainland. Eko Bridge is recommended as an alternative route during specific time slots.
