Former President Olusegun Obasanjo attracted attention at an event after offering his seat to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

The dramatic incident occurred during a celebration of Prof. Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export-Import Bank, receiving a national award.

In a viral video, the former president can be seen summoning Obi from table nine and leading him to table one.

The audience applauded when the switch was flipped.

Obasanjo stated this as he chose the former Anambra State governor from his former seat.

“My job is done,” he declared after leading Obi to table one.

It should be noted that Obasanjo has yet to endorse a presidential candidate for the upcoming election, despite widespread speculation that Obi is his preferred candidate.

Prior to the event, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate met with the former president in a series of closed-door meetings.

Obasanjo also attended Obi’s recent meeting in London with Governor Nyesom Wike and his delegation.
