The naira appreciated further on Friday, trading at ₦1,545 per dollar in the parallel market, up from ₦1,552/$ on Thursday.

In the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the currency also strengthened to ₦1,531/$, according to data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The official rate improved by ₦2, moving from ₦1,533/$ on Thursday.

With the gains, the gap between the parallel and official markets narrowed to ₦14 per dollar, compared to ₦19.80 on Thursday.

For the week, the naira gained ₦5.9 in the official market, while losing ₦5 in the parallel market.
