In a disturbing start to the new year, armed Boko Haram militants, disguised in military uniform, launched a deadly assault on Gatamarwa and Tsiha near Shikarkir communities in Chibok, Borno State.
The attackers claimed the lives of 11 individuals and abducted a young lady after wreaking havoc without any resistance. This comes on the heels of a previous attack just two weeks ago, highlighting the persistent insecurity in the region.
Meanwhile, abductors in Nasarawa State have demanded a hefty N50 million ransom for the release of the kidnapped local government chairman and another individual.
Additionally, a family of seven fell victim to abduction in Cross River State, adding to the growing concerns about security in Nigeria.
