The Nigeria Labour Congress has kicked against the newly introduced cybersecurity levy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria, saying it would be another burden on Nigerians if not reversed.

The NLC, in a statement by the National President, Joe Ajaero, called for a reversal of what it described as an “anti-people” policy.

Ajaero said the NLC strongly condemns the directive by the CBN to levy a 0.5 percent ‘Cybersecurity Levy’ on all electronic transfers.

He insisted that the levy, which would be implemented by deduction at the onset of the transaction, is another burden on the shoulders of hardworking Nigerians.
