The Nigeria Police Force has paraded three officers involved in the assault of a man in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
The incident, which was captured in a viral video showing the officers slapping and flogging the victim, has sparked outrage among the public.
According to CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, the officers, identified as Inspector Adejoh Siaka, Inspector Friday Obaka, and Sgt. Ndiwa Kpuebari, have been arrested and brought to the force headquarters in Abuja.
Adejobi confirmed via Twitter that their trial will commence soon.
The assault incident has drawn attention to the issue of police brutality and abuse of power in Nigeria, and the public is eagerly awaiting the outcome of the trial.
