Health workers in Nigeria have expressed concern over the mass exodus of medical professionals from the country.

The Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals has called on the government to address the issue by mass-recruiting health professionals across all healthcare facilities.

The union also demanded that the current gaps be addressed through mass recruitment of health professionals across primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities in the country.

The call comes amid a global labor movement aimed at achieving decent work and fair wages for workers.

The union is calling for an adjustment in the Consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS, which has been overdue since 2014.
