In a bid to enhance operational efficiency at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Abisoye Odusote-Coker, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer, has sanctioned the deployment of additional enrolment systems to all states across the country.

This move aims to alleviate NIN enrolment challenges and bolster operational capacity, as outlined in a statement released by the Commission’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, on Wednesday.

Adegoke emphasized that the provision of these supplementary enrolment devices underscores the commitment of the DG/CEO to streamline operations and improve overall effectiveness. The systems have been successfully installed and are operational in all states, resulting in reduced waiting times for applicants and increased daily enrolment capacity.

Furthermore, the statement highlighted that the MD has dispatched monitoring and evaluation teams to various enrolment centres nationwide to ensure smooth operations and adherence to established protocols. The teams are tasked with enforcing strict compliance with the agency’s zero-tolerance policy against extortion and unethical practices.

Engr. Coker-Odusote has reaffirmed her stance against the extortion of applicants and has directed that any staff found engaging in such activities will face disciplinary action in accordance with constitutional provisions and existing Public Service Rules.

Applicants who encounter extortion or unethical behavior are encouraged to report such incidents through official channels, including the designated phone lines (08155015388, 07002255646) or via email at ieu@nimc.gov.ng and nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng.
