Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles disclosed on Thursday that he tested positive for Covid two days before his bronze medal run in the men’s 200m final. The 27-year-old American, who aimed for a 100m-200m double in Paris, was seen on a wheelchair post-race after Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo won the 200m. Lyles, who wore a mask prior to the race, reported feeling unwell and confirmed the Covid diagnosis in an NBC interview, noting the virus’s significant impact on his performance.
