Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration for restoring security and driving development across the North-West, describing the region as the “heartbeat” of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Addressing stakeholders at the APC North-West meeting in Kaduna on Saturday, Sani—who serves as the party’s North-West coordinating governor—urged members to rally behind Tinubu’s re-election bid, arguing that the president has navigated Nigeria through “one of the most difficult times” in its history with “uncommon courage.”
“Before President Tinubu assumed office in 2023, the North-West was the epicentre of banditry, terrorism and kidnapping,” Sani said. “Travel was perilous, farmers could not reach their fields, and life was short and brutish. Today, thanks to the president’s bold reforms, security has stabilised and agricultural productivity is on the rise.”
He highlighted federal appointments drawn from the zone—twelve ministers, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Deputy Senate President and key military chiefs—as evidence of the North-West’s influence. Sani also detailed infrastructure projects under way, including the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano dual carriageway, several major road and rail links, and the rehabilitation of dams in Kano.
Sani credited Tinubu for establishing the Ministry of Livestock Development, creating the North-West Development Commission with its largest regional allocation, founding the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia and upgrading Patrick Yakowa General Hospital in Kafanchan to a federal medical centre.
“We have in Mr President a true father and friend,” Sani said. “Let us consolidate our gains by mobilising our people to support his mission to reinvent our economy, banish hunger and poverty, and restore Nigeria’s standing in the world.”
