Operatives of the Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended farmer Paul Amaechi in Telemu village, Ago-Owu, Ondo State, following the alleged murder of a herder who grazed cattle on his farm. The herder’s mutilated body was discovered on Amaechi’s property, prompting suspicion of his involvement. NSCDC spokesperson Kehinde Adeleke confirmed the incident, stating that Amaechi, a Tiv farmer, was arrested in a joint operation with the police. An eyewitness reported that Amaechi and others laid an ambush for the herders, angered by previous damage to his farm by cattle.
