The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dismissed rumors circulating on social media regarding an upgrade to corps members’ bank accounts to accommodate a new minimum wage of N70,000. In a statement released on Saturday, Eddy Megwa, the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, clarified that no such directive has been issued by the government.
Megwa emphasized that the reports are entirely false and urged corps members and the public to disregard the misleading information. He also cautioned bloggers and social media influencers against spreading unauthorized statements concerning the NYSC.
The NYSC reassured corps members that official communication would be made through the proper channels and warned them to be vigilant against misinformation designed to deceive them.
