At his home in Idare Quarters in the Okene LGA of Kogi state, Alhaji Mohammed Jamiu, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Always Petroleum and Energy Service Limited, was kidnapped by gunmen on Saturday.

An eye witness who requested anonymity said that the four kidnappers arrived at the house under the guise of business partners shortly after Mohammed Jamiu arrived from the Okene town Eid praying grounds.

At around noon, he claimed, the kidnappers dragged their victim from his home and drove him off to an unidentified location in his car.

Williams Ayah, the Kogi State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident, assured that plans are in place to rescue the victim.

Jamiu was also kidnapped in 2019 at one of his fuel stations in Okene, but after a few days in captivity, he was freed by military personnel.

During the rescue effort, one of the kidnappers was also killed, and the military lost one of their officers.
