Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, one-half of the iconic music duo P-Square, has responded to recent accusations by his twin brother, Paul Okoye, regarding his alleged involvement in Paul’s arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Okoye brothers, who made headlines with their public split in 2017 over management disputes involving their older brother, Jude Okoye, reconciled in 2021 and performed together at a headline concert. However, recent comments by Paul suggest that the duo may have parted ways again, with allegations that Peter was behind his recent EFCC arrest.

Taking to social media on Monday, Peter, 42, expressed his frustration with Paul’s claims, refuting accusations that he is competing with his brother or trying to undermine their shared success. In a lengthy post, Peter questioned Paul’s motives and defended his contributions to P-Square, emphasizing the duo’s collaborative magic as the key to their success.

Peter denied Paul’s assertion that he wrote the majority of P-Square’s songs, highlighting several hits they produced together. He also expressed disappointment over Paul’s portrayal of their relationship, noting that he has always spoken about their achievements as a team, while Paul tends to take sole credit.

“My dear brother Paul, just like I have told you several times, I am not in any competition with you or anybody else,” Peter wrote. “However, seeing you grant countless interviews where you constantly discredit my efforts in the group that we both created and built together really speaks volumes.”

Peter also hinted that he would address the EFCC matter more fully later, urging fans to stay tuned for further updates.

The ongoing tension between the Okoye brothers has left fans concerned about the future of P-Square, once celebrated as Africa’s most decorated music group. Despite the discord, Peter ended his message on a note of peace, wishing his brother well and asking fans to allow him to focus on his music.
