The Port Harcourt Refinery is currently in the testing phase to ensure seamless operational readiness before commercial activities commence.

The refinery, scheduled for refining operations post-Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) in December 2023, is undergoing thorough testing, as confirmed by NNPC Ltd.’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Oladapo Soneye.

The completion of rehabilitation work on the Area 5 Plant of the refinery has reached an impressive 84.4%, marking a significant milestone in the two-year-long rehabilitation project.

NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to mechanical completion aligns with its promise to deliver value to Nigerians and stabilize petroleum prices.

The achievement is hailed as historic, signifying progress towards the nation’s energy goals, with optimism expressed by government officials and stakeholders.

The refinery’s re-streaming is anticipated to positively impact the nation’s Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) industry, enhancing prospects for a robust energy sector.
